Royan, la professeure de français

Gabrielle is a French teacher in Royan. She addresses Daniella's parents.
In her vindictive monologue hovers the sense of an inexpiable fault for which the narrator feels both burdened and innocent. As always with Marie NDiaye, a metaphysical violence emanates from beings and situations, coming from so far away that it's impossible to determine its cause. She rises up against an original injustice inseparable, it seems, from the human condition.
