A man is waiting for a woman. When she arrives, he greets her joyfully, speaks to her tenderly, and calls her by the name of his wife—who, however, had passed away the previous year. Together, they retrace their extraordinary love story, reliving its most intense and defining moments, from their first meeting to her final farewell.

But this woman is neither truly his wife nor a ghost: she is an artificial being created to help those who have lost a loved one and cannot bear the void left by their departure.

*Mecanismes* is a love story that straddles genres. Through dense, lyrical, and poetic language, it explores the themes of death, passion, and theater as a space where what has been lost might be found again.
